Michaël Verheyden (1978) is a Belgium based designer. Passionate about rock music, but probably also inspired by silence, he creates fashion accessories and home objects.

In 2002 he started his own company producing leather bags and accessories, hence his mastering of this material. He now even uses leather for his recently launched home collection, alongside solid wood, marble, linen, ... . He prefers noble and durable materials that feel natural and age beautifully .

Apart from his quest for good quality fabrics, Michaël Verheyden puts a lot of time into finding new ways to construct things. He always tries to combine innovation, craftsmanship and quality into clean-cut, purified designs.

Michaël Verheyden graduated as an Industrial Designer in 2001. Before starting his own design label, he worked together with, among others, fashion designer Raf Simons. Raf Simons coached Michaël Verheyden's graduation project and commissioned him to make a series of leather bags for his summer 2003 collection.
In 2009, he received the 'Henry Van de Velde Young Talent Award', an important gesture of recognition from the Flemish design industry.

Although Michaël and Saartje mainly focus on the production of the accessories and home collection, they also create art installations, design exhibitions, interiors and furniture.
